It's not clear exactly what shape the game uses to bound characters, but it's probably a cylinder or capsule of some sort.) (I.e., taller characters will get the buff more easily. Entry is judged based on a character's bounding volume if any part of the bounding volume starts overlapping with the buff application box, the character will receive the buff.
Switching characters while inside the box is considered an "entry," so the new character will receive the buff. Standing inside the box will not continuously refresh the duration of the buff a character must exit and re-enter to do so. The buff is applied when a character enters the "buff application box" on the Jade Screen. Constellation Level 5, Invincible Be the Jade Screen: Increases this talent's level by 3 and raises its maximum level to 15. Constellation Level 4, Exquisite be the Jade, Outshining All Beneath: " Jade Screen increases nearby characters' Elemental RES by 10%.". Constellation Level 2, Shock Effect: "When Jade Screen is shattered, its CD will reset. Passive Talent 2, Strategic Reserve: "A character that passes through the Jade Screen will gain a 12% Geo DMG Bonus for 10s.". The Jade Screen can be used to activate some Pressure Plates, but not all of them. It is not considered a shield, and enemy attacks that ignore shields are still blocked by the Jade Screen. The Jade Screen, unlike any other Geo construct, can block enemy projectiles, but does not block projectiles or attacks from the player. If it is not destroyed first, the Jade Screen will automatically shatter after 30 seconds. With the 2nd constellation, consecutive use of the skill will not generate any particles. This particle generation has a cooldown of 6 seconds. When this skill hits at least one enemy, it generates 3.33 Elemental Particles. Constellation Level 6, Grandeur Be the Seven Stars: "When Starshatter is used, Ningguang gains 7 Star Jades.". Constellation Level 1, Piercing Fragments: "When a Normal Attack hits, it deals AoE DMG.". Passive Talent 1, Backup Plan: "When Ningguang is in possession of Star Jades, her Charged Attack does not consume Stamina.". 
For example, Normal/Charged Attacks target ores while Star Jades do not, and the opposite is true against campfires, cooking pots, etc. Star Jades and regular Normal/Charged Attack projectiles have different lock-on mechanics against non-enemy targets.If the target is too far or moves too quickly, the projectile may miss. All projectiles fired by her Normal and Charged Attacks will home towards targets but have a minimum turning radius.The Star Jade stacks from her Normal Attacks do not expire if Ningguang stays on the field, but the ones from her Constellation 6 do.Star Jade stacks gained from Normal Attacks will be lost if Ningguang leaves the field.
DMG dealt by Star Jades is considered Charged Attack DMG.One of the animations where Ningguang only raises her left hand is significantly faster than the other two. There are three possible animations for this attack.Star Jade stacks are fired on a small arcing path and may target enemies other than the Charge Attack target. The Charged Attack fires a single large projectile directly in front of Ningguang from her chest area.There are three possible animations for Ningguang's Normal Attack.Ningguang can hold up to 3 Jade Stars from Normal Attacks.
